Do You Believe in God?

Scripture: You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? James 2:19-20

Saints, When you read this scripture, what do you think it means? In the verse that follows, it describes how Abraham was considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar. So in one respect it means that you must be willing to do what God directs you to do.

But I want to take you in another direction. When you ask God to do something on your behalf, what are doing on your own? In other words, God has said he will bless us, but we must also work towards that blessing.

Let me explain a little more. If you are asking God for a better job, what are you doing to find one? You have to seek out that job and/or further your education/training. A job is not going to come looking for you. If you are sick, you have to seek out medical help, maybe even change your lifestyle. You can't continue to eat pork or salt, etc. if you have high blood pressure. You can't eat those things that you know are going to upset your sugar levels if you are diabetic or hypo-glycemic. If you are looking for a mate, maybe you need to work on you. Your attitude and demeanor.

In other words saints, we can't expect God to do all the work for us. We have to be willing to work with God. Be obedient to God. If we work towards our goals, he will bless us.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Our Father, our Lord, Our Savior, we come before You this morning once again to honor You. Lord, we submit our will to Yours. Father, we pray that You would show us new revelations everyday in Your word. We ask that You would continue to guide our lives with Your word. Search our hearts Lord. Help us to identify those things in our lives that are not pleasing to You. Cover us Lord, Hide us Lord. Keep us Lord. Father, we come this morning before the alter of sacrificing to leave the things in our lives that we want resolved. We recognize that our problems are too big and too heavy for us to carry alone. We desire breakthroughs for ourselves, our loved one, and most of all, our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord, may something that we do or say this day, show just how wonderful You are. We pray that You would magnify the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, not for our own edification, but so that others can see You in our lives. We love You Lord, we praise and uplift Your most holy name. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we submit our prayers. Amen.

When We are Lost

Scripture:
And I will bring the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16

As a child, did you ever get lost? One day out shopping our out with family and friends, somehow you became separated from your parents? Parents, has one of your children ever gotten lost?

Recently, my youngest son became lost while out with some friends at the auto show. I was not there but received a call on my cell phone to let me know that he had gotten lost but was safe.

When I arrived to pick my son up, as the police officer walked him to my car, I noticed that my son was not crying nor was he upset. As a matter of fact, he seemed to be taking the whole thing in stride.

As we rode home and I asked what happened, he told me how he had become separated and what he did. He was in a car and somehow, when the older boys had gotten out of the car they didn't notice that he was no longer with him.

Since my son no longer could see his companions or their father, he did what he had been taught to do. He went up to someone who was working there and told them he was lost. They told my son he wasn't lost, the people he had come with were lost, because he knew where he was.

Saints of God, sometimes in our lives we too lose our way and become lost. Or so it seems to us. Sometimes even Christians need help finding their way home to our Father. The key is recognizing that we are lost and need help. We recognize that wherever we may be in our journey doesn't look familiar to us. Or somehow we have become separated from those with whom we have made the journey with. The key is identifying someone, one of God's angels, who can help us find our way home.

Prayer:
Father, sometimes as we journey through this life, we become lost. We find that we have somehow become separated from You. We look around us and nothing looks familiar, or we recognize that the things around us are not of You. We don't know how to find our way back to You because we don't know how we got to this place. But Lord, You have told us time and time again, that You are just a prayer away. Thank You Lord, for the power of prayer. Father, help us to recognize those times when we find ourselves in a far country, far away from Your grace and mercy. Help us Lord, to recognize Your angels who will help us to find our way home. Father, we thank You for Your undershepards who You have given charge over us. Because there have been times when we didn't even recognize just how lost we have been, but You have sent them out to bring us back into the fold. Now Lord, we ask that You would continue to touch our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as our unsaved families members and friends. So many need so much. We don't know the need of each individual but we know You do. Bless us Lord in the area of our lives that we have need of. Father God, our hearts are overflowing with Your love. Thank You Lord, for that love. We come before the throne of grace once again, just to give You honor, glory and praise. Bless the name of the Lord. Glory to Your name Lord. Thank You for loving me enough to sacrifice Your only begotten son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

You Can Do All Things!

Scripture:
For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

Saints,
How many of you think your situation is hopeless? How many of you are discouraged about your situation? How many of you want to give up and let go? Well I am here this morning to tell you DON'T GIVE UP! DON'T GIVE IN! DON'T LET GO!

The word of God says "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me". "I am more that a conqueror" "If I say to the mountain, be thy removed".

My pastor, Reverend Larry Smith has us come into covenant agreement each Sunday with the words as we hold up our bible "THIS IS MY BIBLE. IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. IT IS THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT. I AM, WHAT IT SAYS I AM. I HAVE, WHAT IT SAYS I HAVE!

This affirmation is something that each of us should be shouting from the mountain tops every morning. Why? Because, God cannot lie. He said pick up your sword, your cross and follow me. The word of God says "I CAN DO ALL THINGS, NOT SOME, BUT ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS WHO STRENGTHENS ME!

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Lord, we come before the throne of grace thanking You for our miracles. Father we come into covenant agreement and standing in the gap for our brothers and sisters who may be weak. Touch them Lord Jesus. Magnifying Your power and Your presence in their lives. Father, our city and our world is full of stress and strife. Allow Your power and Your spirit to rain down on us this day. Father because pf todays economy, many of our brothers and sisters may be faced with losing jobs. Have mercy Lord. Lord, and as we have to go through our valleys, to GET to the other side, be by our sides. Keeping us in perfect peace. Lord, use us and allow us to bless someone else this day. We love You Lord. We praise and uplift Your name. We give all honor, all praise, all glory to You alone. Hallelujah, anyhow. Hallelujah in spite of. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Praise God, Amen.

In The Fiery Furnace

Scripture:
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:6-7

Have you ever wondered why it seems that sometimes it's hard being a Christian? We accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior and then it seems like the more we love God and try to grow closer to him, life is constantly coming against you?

Well, I know I have. I look at my life, my sister's life and the lives of my saved brothers and sisters and see that each and every one of us is going through some rather difficult times. Situation after situation keeps happening. Jobs are being lost. Cars are being reposed, houses are being lost, marriages are being torn apart and the money just can't seem to stretch far enough.

But then, God gave me a revelation. Stop depending on the world, the people of this world, the things of this world. Start looking at me instead! How many of you have noticed that the more you go through, the more you start to really study the word of God. You pray more and you look to him more. The more you go through, things and habits that you once had start falling away.

God says I put you in the furnace so that I can refined you like gold. I need to burn off all of those impurities. I know it's hot in there, but you are mine and those who are mine must be the best. Without spot or blemish. Free of sin, clean, A NEW CREATURE!

So I just want each of you to know, that it may get so hot and uncomfortable. Life will get hard and things may not always work the way we want them to, but in the end, we can praise God and rejoice at the new creature that he has created.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Thank You Jesus for my fiery furnace. Thank You Lord, for the impurities that You are removing from me. Father, we just ask that You continue to be with us as we go through. We just ask that You would take our hand and lead us on. Lord, we ask that You would help us to see those things in our lives that we have need to get rid of and give them to You willingly. Continue to bless Your saints. Bless each and every family that is represented here. Thank You father for family and friends. Thank You Lord, for Your word. Thank You Lord, for Your son Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.

My Personal God

Scripture: various - SEE BELOW
Saints, This morning I want to tell you about my God. You see, I call him my God because to me, he is my personal God. Now that doesn't mean I can't share him with you, but to me it means that we have a one on one relationship.

You see, my Father is always there for me. When I am in need, he supplies. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

When I cry, he wipes my tears away. he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. Isaiah 25:8

When I am hungry, he feeds me. he rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven. Psalm 78:24

When I am tired, he comforts me. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

When I am weak, he gives me strength. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

My list goes on and on. You see, my God supplies everything that I will ever need. He is my strength, my joy, my protector, my sustainer, my comforter, my Father & Mother, my friend.

But you know what saints, the most important thing that my God is to me, is my Personal Lord and Savior. Who loved me enough to sacrifice his own son so that you and I could dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever!

Be Blessed

Prayer:
You are El Shaddai, the God of Abundance. All Sufficient God. The Mighty One. The God who is More Than Enough. You are also Jehovah Nissi. God My Banner, Elohim,God of Total Power. You are The First and the Last, The Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and the End. You are my all and all. Lord, we come before the throne of grace humbling ourselves before You. We bow down in total reverence and submission to You. Lord we adore You. We praise You, but most of all, we thank You. We thank You Lord for one more day. One more chance, one more opportunity to go forth and do a good works in Your name. Lord, we come standing together as one. We join together on one accord, touching and agreeing this day, to intercede on behalf of our brothers and sisters. Lord, we ask that each of us would begin to develop a more personal relationship with You. We ask Lord, that Your power and Your spirit would be magnified in our lives. Lord, may something that we do or say today, lead someone to seek Your face. Touch, bless, anoint, heal, deliver, sustain, cover, and keep those saints whose names are listed below. May You add a blessing to those saints and their families who are reading this prayer. Lord, we love You and praise You. Thank You father for our personal Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah!!

Judging Others

Scripture:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Saints,
I know that most of you who read these messages have already accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Now some of you have been in the body of Christ for a very long time, some are new to the body, and still some; have not quite made up their minds to accept him yet.

So often you hear about being in the body of Christ and have often wondered just what does that mean. Well, there are many different ways to look at the body of Christ. One, is his physical body, the symbolic body, the bead of the Lord's Supper, and the institutional body, the church.

Today, I am talking about the church body. The church is comprised of the Head, the Preacher who is the under-Shepard and the congregation, our Christian brothers and sisters, otherwise known as our church family.

Now, I don't know about you, but I was raised to believe that family is very important. One member is very important to all the rest of the family. I had one brother and three sisters. We couldn't fight one another, but we better not letter anyone else harm another sibling. Our parents didn't care what it took, but we had all better get along.

So often those of us who have been in the body of Christ, or in our church family for a very long time, are judgmental and critical of accepting those who are new to the body. We want to judge people by what we see, what we have heard or even by what we don't know about a person.

The scripture says, if ANYONE is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away. Now that doesn't mean that everyone will become a saint when they become saved, but what it does mean is that the things of the past, are in the past. I am on my way to becoming more Christ like. My journey may take me longer than others, but at least I am on my way.

Woe be to the saint who causes one of God's lost sheep who is trying to find his way home, to turn away from the church. There was a quote I used a few weeks ago that said, Even God won't judge others until they're dead, why should I?

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Blessed be the name of the Lord. Our Father, who sits high and looks low. The great I AM. My Lord, my Savior, My Redeemer. We who are a part of the body of Christ come before You this morning asking that You would forgive us for our sins of yesterday. Lord, I ask that if I am being critical of others, that You would help me to see the errors of my ways. "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Help me Father to hide those words in my heart. Lord, I thank You for saving me from the depths of hell. Thank You for loving me so much that You stretched out Your hand to me and welcomed me into the kingdom. Lord, Someone is standing at deaths door this morning. I ask heavenly Father, that You would welcome them into Your kingdom with open arms. Lord, comfort the families of those who will have to release a loved one into Your care. Father, the rain is falling outside this morning, it is dark and cold. But we know that eventually, the sun will shine. We are thanking You right now for our sunshine. Continue to touch, bless, anoint, heal, and comfort every saint that is represented here today. Touch those unsaved members of our families as we continue to tell them just how wonderful You are. Thank You Father for blessing me. Thank You Father for keeping me. Thank You Father for saving me. I Love the Lord. He Heard my Cry. His mercy endures forever. We submit our prayers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

God Has Not Forgot

Scripture:
Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare his praise? Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right. Remember me, O LORD , when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.
Psalm 106:1-5

Saints, I know that most of you are saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit. I know that most of you put God first in all that you do and say. I know that most of you don't get upset, flustered or anxious because God is always right next to you helping you to make it through your situation. I know that most of you have no complaints because you have already turned them over to God. Or do you?

Saints of God, each and every one of us has at some point in our lives felt hopelessness, despair, anxiety, scared and all alone. Every one of us has felt that we couldn't handle whatever our situation was at that time. Every one of us has felt so far away from God that we couldn't even remember who it was we were supposed to be calling on.

Periodically, I have to remind myself to stop worrying about a situation. Sometimes I have to remember that when I turn my problems over to God and LEAVE them at the alter, not to turn right around and pick them back up. Sometimes I have to reach deep down inside of myself and remember to call on the name of Jesus. Every now and then, I have to force myself to get down on my knees and pray; even when I don't feel like it. Every now and then I have to ask God to forgive me for not trusting him in the middle of my situation.

Every now and then I have to ask God to forgive me for forgetting about him, especially when I know that he has not forgotten about me.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Father, You are the creator of all things. You called forth the planets with a word, and established the stars with the sound of Your voice. You have authority over all the resources of the universe, and You have promised to meet all of our needs. We come before Your throne of provision right now. You know our needs, and the challenges that we are faced with. Lord, we ask that You would release a mighty blessing upon us and demonstrate Your enormous generosity, by providing above and beyond all that they could hope or imagine right now. Guard our hearts from anxiety and fear. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and cause faith to rise up within us. Enable us to stand firm in the midst of uncertainty, and bring forth a mighty victory. Help us to establish another testimony of Your goodness, that those who hear of it might glorify Your name. No weapon formed against us can prosper because not only have You given us our whole armor, we come pleading the blood of Jesus over our situations and into our circumstances. We rebuke satan and ask that You would not only give us a spirit of discernment but that You would help us to see things with our spiritual eyes. Continue to bless each family that is represented here. Prosper all who have come seeking Your face. Grant us fresh grace and mercy, as we pause to give You all praise, honor and glory. We pray in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

He is a Merciful God

Scripture: For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.
Deuteronomy 4:31

Saints,
Things happen in life that seem overwhelming. It may be a car accident, a robbery, a fire or the loss of a job. Sometimes when these things happen, we have a tendency to want to dwell on the "what could have happened". We could have been killed, we could have been home, we could have been gone. They could have kept me and put me someplace else.

Well my brothers and sisters, let me tell you what did happen. Yes, you were in a car accident, but you walked away. Yes you was robbed at gunpoint, but you walked away. You had a house fire. Yes you loss some furniture and have to make some home repairs, but you are still here to talk about it. Yes, you lost your job, but you still have a roof over your head and food on the table.

Saints, bad things will happen in your life. It's just a part of living. Stuff Happens! But rather than dwell on your losses, praise God for your victories!

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Father, Thank You for my victories. Thank You for allowing us to walk away from situations where we could have died. Thank You Lord, for placing Your hedge of protection around us. Thank You Lord for saving us in situations when we didn't even realize that we were in harms way. Lord, I ask that You would continue to keep each and every saint that is represented here, in perfect peace. Lord, today someone will be faced with a difficult decision. I ask that You would give them a spirit of discernment. Someone will have to let a loved one go. We ask that You would comfort them and allow their loved one to leave in peace. Father, give us the courage to stand on our faith, to let go and let You take control. Lord we love You. We praise and thank You for our victories, both large and small. We ask that You would magnify Your power and Your presence in our lives today and that You would continue to bless each and everyone of our brothers and sisters. In Jesus name, Amen.

God Is

Scripture: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains quake with their surging. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3

How often have you heard the phrase; I am too Blessed to be stressed? I am sure many of you have also used that phrase in response to the question; how are you doing today?

So often we speak the words and don't really believe what we are saying. We may start our day of on a pleasant not, then some things happens to upset you. Rather than allowing God to handle the situation, we begin to worry. We worry about our bills, our spouses, our jobs, and the list just goes on and on.

God tells us time and time again, give me your worries, your cares, your concerns, your problems. And leave them with me. I got this! There is a song that it very special to me called, "God Is" It says; "God is the joy and the strength of my life. He removes all pain, misery and strife. He promised to keep me; never to leave, and he never ever comes short of his word." "GOD IS MY ALL AND ALL!"

Saints of God, we must learn to cast all of our burdens onto the Lord. He's Got This!

Be Blessed

Prayer:

Lord, when trouble comes, help me to trust in You. Father, sometimes we forget that You are our ever present help in the time of trouble. Thank You Lord, for being there when we need You. Lord, when we begin to falter and start to worry about our problems, help us to remember to be still and pray to You. When the problems of life seem to overwhelm us, help us to remember You are right there with us. God help us to realize that weeping may endure for a night, and that sometimes it is necessary for trouble to assail us so that we can see You manifested in our lives. Lord, We ask for strength today. The strength to stand and fight the good fight of faith yet another day. Lord, grant us peace today. Your peace that passes all understanding. Lord, fill our hearts with Your love. Your love that is not our selfish definition, but the love of Christ Jesus, that strengthens us. Now Lord, we come together on one accord to pray for one another. For no matter how heavy our cross seems, we recognize that we are blessed beyond our own imaginations. Bless our brothers and sisters in Christ. Bless our loved ones who have not come to know You yet. But most of all, we Bless Your holy name. In Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Let it Go and Leave it Behind

Scripture: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19

Saints, why is it when something is going bad, we start thinking about all the bad that has happened in our past? Why is it that when we get upset with someone, we think about how they made us angry, in the past? Why is it that when we think we are failing, we think about all of the failures of our past? Why is it that we often times remember the pain that old relationships have caused us when dealing with problems in our new relationships? Why is it that we can't forgive ourselves for our past and still beat ourselves up about mistakes that we made a long time ago?

Saints, learn to leave the past where it belongs. In the past. Learn to forgive and move on. Learn to let go and move on. Learn to forgive yourselves for your past sins because God already forgave you the moment that you asked.

In today's word God speaks about letting go and seeing what he is doing in your lives right now! God's word speaks about how he is able to make a way in the desert and steams in the wasteland. In other words, he has the power to make a change in your lives no matter how desolate the situation seems to you if you would JUST LET IT GO AND LEAVE IT BEHIND! But most of all, trust in him and look ahead and not behind.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
El Shaddai, You who are All Mighty, all Powerful, my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Father, help me to let go of my past and walk into my blessings of today. Lord, help me to let go of my sins of yesterday and embrace the forgiveness that You have in Your heart for me. Lord, I am weak. I seek Your strength and ask that You would help me to be still and listen to Your word so that I may be able to gather a renewed strength and purpose even in the wilderness. Lord, I am like Elijah, in a desert situation but know that my help and my blessings are still being provided by You. Thank You Lord. Lord, help me to let go and let God. Use me today Lord to be a blessing to someone else. Touch me Lord, just to let me know that You are still walking with me. Have mercy Lord, our needs and our afflictions are too many to name, but we know that You know what those needs are and we ask that You would bless us according to Your tender mercies. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus, in whose name we pray. Glory Hallelujah, Praise God, Amen.

Using the Word of God

Scripture:
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2

Recently I had a discussion with a friend who is still a fairly new Christian, about his breakup with his longtime girlfriend. You see, every time his girlfriend would become angry with him, she would start quoting scripture to him.

He told me this angered him for two reasons. The first one being, it made him feel less than who he was as a Christian, because he didn't always understand what she was saying to him. And secondly, it made him feel less than the man that God wanted him to be.

This disturbed me for a number of reasons. You see saints; I saw so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ in this young lady. Most of us tend to forget that everyone is not at the same level in their spiritual walk. Just because someone can read the word of God, doesn't mean they understand what is being said. That is why we have church leaders, like our pastors, to help us understand the word of God and how to apply it to our daily lives.

Secondly, this woman was using the word of God as a weapon against someone who was a part of the body of Christ. The word of God should never be used to cause another believer harm. This does nothing to edify or glorify him. In situations like this, you could cause a new believer in the word, to turn away from God even before they get the chance to know him.

I am not saying that we shouldn't use the word of God in our daily conversations, but rather, if a person may not seem to understand what that word means, we must take the time to explain it. We must never use the word, to hinder another, but rather to help them grow in faith and grace. We must never turn the word of God into a stumbling block in someone's Christian Walk. Allow the word of God to lead someone to Christ, not turn them away.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Father, bind our tongues so that we may not cause our brothers or sisters harm. Help us Lord, to be careful of what we say, especially when using Your word. Father, I pray that the words out of my mouth would be acceptable to You this day. Help us Lord, to become the light that draws others to You, not turn them away. Father God, we come once again standing in the prayer gap for our loved ones. So many need so much and we cannot begin to know each individual need. But we know You know. Father, we ask that You would magnify Your presence in the lives of everyone represented here today. We bind every sickness, every disease, every situation where strife exists, everything that is not of You; in the lives of our brothers and sisters who stand in the need of prayer today. In the name of Jesus, we rebuke the evil one and will give him no glory this day! Thank You lord for Your saving grace. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Changing Ain't Easy

Scripture: As you come to him, the living Stone rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame. 1 Peter 2:4-6

Saints, How many of you have been going through some things for what seems like a long time? How many of you are in a valley experience with no mountain-top in sight? How many of you feel that no matter how much you pray, fast and sacrifice, God doesn't seem to hear your prayers?

Well I don't know about you, but I raised my hand at each question. As I talked to a friend on the phone on my way to work this morning, something we both realized has happened. We have both changed over the years since we first met.

Things that would have sent me into a tailspin don't anymore. Instead of breaking down and crying about everything, I pray instead. Instead of talking about what others are doing to me, I talk about what God is doing in my life.

Now don't get me wrong. I still become sad and frustrated over things. I still worry about certain things, my children for example, but I have learned to depend on God more and more.

I realize that over these past few years, I have changed a lot of things about myself and how I am living. I realize that everything that the world accepts isn't what I am supposed to accept. I realize that God didn't save me for me; God save me for his edification. I realized that God is still in control and if I just be step back, be still and know that he is God, Changing ain't that hard.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Lord, as a new day begins, so does fresh grace and mercy. Thank You Father for a new begining and new revelations. Lord, we come before the throne of grace once again, humbling our hearts, our minds and our spirits to pay homage to You. We bow our heads and lift our hands to glorify the name of the Lord. When we stop to think about Your goodness and Your mercies, we say thank You Lord that You remember me, a sinner who is not worthy. Father, we don't know what this day may bring, but the one thing that we do know is that You are with us always. During times of sadness, joy, despair, peace and even in the midst of the storm Your goodness and mercy are at our side. Lord, satan would have us believe that things in our lives will never change. We rebuke satan and his lies, in the name of Jesus. I am a new creature in Christ Jesus. I can do all things through Christ Jesus, who strengthens me. I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not below. Victory is mine, in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Compassion

Scripture: I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men. So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Luke 15:19-21

Recently I had a conversation with a very good friend about having compassion for those who for whatever reason have failed in accomplishing something in life. As we talked I tried to explain why I thought it was important for us to remember that there are various reasons that some people fail to achieve what society views as life's significant accomplishments.

Now those things of which I speak may be as simple as graduating high school. As we all know that without an education, we have very little choices in what we might be able to accomplish. It might be that they got strung out on drugs, became an alcoholic, or a teenage mother/father. What ever reasons that a person may have for not accomplishing what we as individuals deem as important, does not mean that they are any less or that we are any more important to God.

The reality of life is this; We have all done things that we have come to regret. Sometimes we can correct our mistakes, and at other times it's too late. Some of our mistakes we will overcome, other mistakes we will live with for the rest of our lives.

How can Jesus show compassion towards us when we make mistakes, if we can't be big enough to show compassion to those society has labeled failures in life.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come seeking your grace and your counsel this morning. Touch us Lord, as we begin another day. Father, we pause to give thanks for keeping us once again. We know that we are here only because of you. We are blessed, not because of who we are but because of who's we are. Thank you Lord, that you loved us that much. Touch us Lord, for we need you right now. Touch, bless, and anoint our brothers and sisters who are listed below. Father, help each and every one of us to be mindful to put on the whole armor of God. For we are still in the midst of a spiritual battle. Protect us Lord, guide us Lord. Keep us Lord. Father, we come give you our thanks. We come praising and uplift your Holy Name. We love you Lord. As we ask and pray these things in Christ Jesus. Amen

This is a Test

Scripture:
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
2 Corinthians 13:5

How many of you know that every day we have a test? Everyday life, can be a test. We are often tested to see what we know. Sometimes we are tested to see if we will do the right thing. If you are a parent, your children will often test your patience. Your boss, your skills, and sometimes, your mate will test your love for them.

In the book of Exodus, the children of Israel were tested by God to see if they could follow his instructions. He provided Manna for their nourishment. They were told to go out and gather only what was needed for the day. Now being that men will be men, some gathered more than was needed and tried to save some for later. But the next day, the Manna that was saved was full of maggots and smelled.

Even though the Israelites had seen God perform great miracles and supply all that was needed, some still couldn't pass the test. Sometimes, we forget what we have learned. When it comes time for our test, we barely get a passing grade.

Sometimes we forget how important our tests can be. Our tests are the things that increase our knowledge and our faith. Our tests are life’s lessons. We have been given all of the answers for our test. All we have to do is read our Basis Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

And remember, there is to Testimony without the test.

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Father, we come this morning to thank You for all of our blessings. We thank You Lord, for supplying all of our needs. We thank You for the book of life that teaches us and guides us in all that we do. Thank You Gather for all that we are and all that You are to us. Praise God. Amen.

Ministry in Song

Scripture:
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

I love gospel music. Gospel music has a way of putting into words, feelings and situations that you may be going through. Gospel music has a way of putting God's word into songs that minister to our very souls. Gospel music has a way of touching your very heart as though God himself is having a personal conversation with only you.

Recently, at the suggestion of a very good friend, I bought a cd collection that featured a number of todays most popular songs. It's a four cd collection that has a title for each cd. For example, they are "Meditation and Strength", "Praise Party", "Trial and Triumph" and "Restoration and Praise".

Driving to work recently and listening to these awesome God inspired messages in song, there was one song in particular that really touched my spirit. It is called, "I Believe" by Marvin Sapp. Reverend Sapp is an ordained minister out of Grand Rapids, Michigan who used to sing with the group Commissioned. Reverend Sapp is known for interjecting mini sermons into his song performances.

This particular song speaks about the promises of God. It says "I believe in your promises. I believe what you said is true. I believe what you promised me. I believe that you'll come through. As is in his style of singing, he begins to preach.

The words that he spoke during this particular song talked about the increased attacks on your life by satan. Reverend Sapp said "the devil is trying to discourage you. He has peeped into your future and sees what God has is store for you". Saints, how many of you feel that song may be talking about you? I know I had a personal connection with it. Again, my God was ministering to me through music.

The point that I am trying to make is this; when there is a situation going on in your life and you have prayed about it, never be surprised on how God can answer you. Even in song. During those times when you may not be able to open up your bible and read, there are other ways to receive the word of God. Music is just one.

Be Blessed

Prayer:

Father, we come this morning thanking You once again for Your word. Your message and direction, delivered in the reading and the hearing of Your word. Your word, delivered in song and praise. Your word, that You pass along from one saint to another. Thank You father for the gift of Your word. Lord, we come thanking You, not for anything one thing, but for life itself. We thank You for watching over us once again. We thank You for proving all of our needs. We thank You for family and fellowship. Lord, we thank You most of all for Your son, Jesus Christ. Now Lord, continue to keep us in perfect peace, full of Your joy, covered in Your grace and mercy and full of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Cross of Jesus

Scripture: Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. John 19:25

Saints, have you ever wondered why the Cross of Jesus is so important? We sing about being near the cross. We wear a cross as a symbol of being saved. We pray about drawing near the cross.

The cross of Jesus represents God's love, sacrifice and forgiveness for us. The cross of Jesus gives a point of reference for seeking comfort and strength. The cross of Jesus is a reminder to us of the magnitude of just how much God wanted to save a sinful and dying world. The cross of Jesus is our reminder of just how much God loved us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Aren't you glad for the Cross?

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Father God, we come rejoicing and thanking You for the Cross of Jesus. We give thanks O'Lord, for the love and sacrifice that You made so that we might be redeemed. Lord, when we stop and think about what our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus had to endure, when we think about his pain and suffering, all we can say is, thank You Jesus. When we think about the heartbreak You had to endure at the loss of Your only begotten son, we say thank You Lord. Father, let not Your sacrifice be in vain. We come kneeling at the foot of the cross in total surrender, praying that You would empower us, give us the courage and the strength to endure our own crosses. Help us Lord, to be mindful of what price You paid so that we could be reconciled to the kingdom of God. Continue to keep us near the cross. Continue to speak to our hearts and minds. Lord, allow Your power and Your word to be manifested in our lives. Thank You Lord. Thank You Jesus. In whose name we pray. Amen

Jesus Can Still Speak To Your Storms

Scripture: And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, "Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!" Luke 8:24-25

Saints,
This past year has really been a challenge to not only me but to so many of you as well. Some of us have lost jobs, lost loved ones, lost homes and cars. Our faith is challenged almost on a daily basis.

It seems as though we are walking in perpetual darkness. There are actually days when there doesn't seem to be any hope for our situations. We haven't found the job that we want. We are forced to move out of a house we have lived in for many years. We miss our mother, our father, our sister, our friend. We have to depend on others to get us around because we don't have a car.

We cry at night because the burdens becomes too heavy for us. We can't tell others about our problems because maybe they won't understand and even if they do, could they or would they even help?

Saints of God, Hold on! Our storms won't last forever. It is a part of our journey through this life. Hold On! A change is coming. Hold On! We are on our way to the Other side! HOLD ON! Jesus is on board this ship! HOLD ON! Even the winds and the rains, our individual storms will obey his will, if we just HOLD ON TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND!

Prayer:
Father God, we come this morning to praise and uplift Your name once again. We enter into Your courtyard, lifting up our hands in total praise, honor and submission. We surrender our will to You alone. Lord, we humble ourselves before the throne of grace, in reverence to You. Father, thank You for yet another day. Father God, today, right here, right now, I ask that You speak to the storms in the lives of my brothers and sisters. Peace. Be Still. I ask O'Lord, that You would cover them with the wings of Your salvation. I Plead the Blood of Jesus over every saint reading this prayer right now. Father, we come this morning, touching and agreeing and on one accord that You would tend to the individual needs of Your saints. Lord, so many are under attack by he who seeks to destroy us. We ask Lord, that You would touch each and every saint as well as each household represented here. Touch, Bless, Anoint, and most of all cover Your saints with the Holy Spirit right here, right now. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Spiritual Challenges

Scripture: "Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes! 1 Samuel 12:16

This morning I would just like to remind you that ach and every one of us will have spiritual challenges. No matter how faithful you are, how much you try to live and do right, nor how prayerful you remain, you will still go through many spiritual valleys.

At one time or another it appears as though your prayers will never be answered. You pray about it. You say you have to God and still here we are, way down the road and the problem or problems are still there. And in some cases the problem has intensified.

I know this year has been a year of many intense challenges for me. I have been unemployed, forced to move, blew an engine on my car (that was paid for by the way), and so much more. My relationships have been challenged, even my sister who I consider my best friend and I were at odds for a while. There were many nights that I cried myself to sleep asking God, Why me Lord? What have I done but be faithful to you? He answered; "why not you?"

You see saints, even I realize that some of these messages that go out each day, wouldn't be as powerful IF they were not birthed in our trials. You see, how would I be able to write about how GOOD and FAITHFUL he is to me, if I couldn't share my testimonies with you. I can't begin to count the number of times someone has written to me to say just how much a message has touched and blessed them. I can't begin to tell you the number of times someone has said, "I was praying about something and when I opened your message this morning I knew it was God confirming my prayers".

You see Saints, it's not about me. It's not about what I am going through. It's all about God. My life is not my own. It's his to do what he pleases. My whole purpose in this world, no matter what I want it to be, is to edify him in all that I do and say. My job each and everyday is to tell somebody about my Jesus. My job is to spread the good news of the Gospel. My job is to encourage you so that you will seek the kingdom of God "FIRST".

So Saints of God, be encouraged. God has not forgot. He sees and knows all about your troubles. He said "He will never leave us or forsake us, if we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness". And you know, God cannot Lie!

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Lord, we come before You once again to have just a moment with You. Father, touch my heart, my spirit and my soul today. May something that I do or say cause someone to seek Your face and Your word. Father, we come before You in the name of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. We come humbling ourselves and asking for Your continued grace and mercy. Lord, keep each and every saint as well as their families safe today. Lord, we ask that You would cover our brother Ron in the blood. The blood that protects as well as heals. Father, someone needs to know that no matter what they are going through, You are still in control. Someone needs to know, that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Someone needs to know that even though we may be walking through the valley we are still covered under the wings of Your salvation. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus. In who’s name we pray. Amen.

What Does God Say?

Scripture:
For I am the LORD , your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

Saints of God, how many of you believe what God says? As I lay in bed early in the morning, I reflected on some of the things that he has said to me.

You know what he told me? He told me I can do all things through Christ Jesus. He told me; Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward. For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you. the LORD your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. He told me; "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
And you know what else? God cannot lie. The LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. His mercy endures forever. God heals, he protects, he strengthens, he hides us, he renews, he hears our cries. the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces.

He is a God of comfort. "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. But most of all he is a God of forgiveness. Who loves us so much that he sacrificed his only begotten son so that you and I could come before the throne of grace.

So my brothers and sisters, today let's stand on the word of God. He hasn't failed us yet!

Be Blessed

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your word. Thank You father for being faithful, even when we are not. Thank You for keeping us safe and warm, for providing all of our needs and even some of our wants. Thank You Lord, for the sword of the Spirit; You word that never fails us. Your word, that says we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Your word, that soothes our soul, calms the winds and the rains, keeps me safe and secure when I find myself all alone late in the midnight hour. Thank You Lord for allowing us to come before You again this morning. We Love You Lord, We Praise You Lord. We Bless You Holy Name. Amen.

Praying for One Another

Scripture: So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30

Good Morning everyone,
This morning we will talk about standing in the gap for someone else. Sometimes things happen in life that for whatever reason, we cannot handle on our own. We have to call on others to stand in our stead or stand in the gap on our behalf.

James 5:14 says; Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. There are times when even your pastor or church leader will say; Pray for me.

Even with the prayer list that I do everyday, it is because our brothers and sisters realize that they need help in praying with or for someone or a situation. Our word for the day says that the Lord looked around at a corrupt world. He saw how neighbor treated neighbor and was not pleased. He looked for someone to stand up for his brothers and sisters and couldn't find any. He saw how those who had mistreated those who had not. He became angry at what he saw and because he couldn't find anyone to stand up for the people and all the wrong they had done he would pour out his wrath and consume the people with his fiery anger for all the wrong they had done.

But you know what? Today we have someone who stands in the gap for us even when we are wrong. He is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We who are in the body of Christ know and realize that we are not in this thing alone. We have fresh grace and mercy because Jesus Christ died and was raised from the dead, so that he would always be there to stand in the gap for sinners like you and me. Thank God for he who stands for you and for me!

Be Blessed

Prayer:Lord, we come this morning to thank you for loving us enough that you sacrificed your only begotten son who stands in the gap and intercedes on our behalf. We thank you for the gift of eternal life that has been given to us through the shedding of his blood. Thank you Lord, for the only perfect gift, your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
