Jacqueline D. Moore Book trailer
It Ain't Over Yet!
A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more. ~ Rosabeth Moss Kanter
Scripture:Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments. ~ Habakkuk 3:17-19 (New International Version)
Not long ago I had dinner with a friend who attended an outstanding teacher’s awards ceremony. He told us the story of one particular teacher who motivated his students with one simple word; YET. If one of his students approached him and said they couldn't do something, his response was always the same, he added the word YET. Think about the word, yet.
Yet is a simple word with a simple meaning, “Up to now.” To put in into context; “I can’t do it, up to now; I don’t understand it, up to now; it hasn't happened, up to now. In other words even if you don’t get it, understand it, hasn't happened doesn't mean it can’t or won’t. It simply means that you haven’t reached that goal, had that vision or breakthrough “up to now!”
This wonderful educator keeps his student motivated by challenging them with the knowledge that even thought it hasn't happened yet, their breakthrough is still at hand. And so it is with our daily walk. If those things that you need and desire haven’t happened doesn't mean they won’t. It just means it hasn't happened YET.
Each and every one of us must remember that when we trust in something greater then ourselves; when we trust in God, that job, financial breakthrough, marriage, children or whatever else you may be waiting for simply means that you just don’t have it YET!
Be Blessed
Prayer:
Lord, we lift Your name on high. I will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continuously be in my mouth. From every mountain high and every valley low, we will uplift the name of God. We will sing songs of praise all the day long. Though He slay me, I will have hope in Him. Even when my enemies are camped all around, yet I will give Him the glory for my impending victory. Lord we sing songs of praise even when we can't speak. We say Glory, glory hallelujah, praise be to God, even when the tears begin to fall. Even as I lay on my bed of affliction, when friends and family have turned against me, when there seems to be no hope for my situation or circumstances I will shout from the mountain tops; HALLELUJAH, ANYHOW! PRAISE BE TO GOD, GLORY! GLORY! GLORY! BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD! amen.

Sometimes We Can't Handle the Truth
You can bend it and twist
it... You can misuse and abuse it... But even God cannot change the
Truth. ~ Michael Levy
Scripture:
Guide
me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope
is in you all day long. Psalm
25:5
Have
you ever asked God a question, but didn't like His answer? Have
you ever asked Him to give you a spirit of discernment, but didn't like what was revealed? Have you ever asked God to show you
someone’s heart and then regretted it?
We
often ask God to do things on our behalf and then become angry with
the results. We become angry because even though we want God to move
in support of us, we want what we want even if it’s not what God
wants for us. We want Him to confirm our decisions, even when we make
the wrong ones. We want our choices to be definitive, even as the
world around us begins to crumble because our decisions were not in
God’s will.
I
found the above quote to be most interesting because I have always
been taught that God can change anything, anybody or any situation.
At first glance, this quote would appear to challenge that line of
thinking. However, when we study His word we learn that He cannot
lie. In other words, the truth, fact or reality of our situations
cannot be altered simply because we want it to be so. Things that we
do or say that are contrary to God’s word, His teachings or His
will will not be changed simply because we asked.
In
other words, God cannot lie to or for His children. So before you
ask God the question, be prepared for His answer.
Be
Blessed
Prayer:
Father
God, we come before the throne of grace with bowed heads and humbled
hearts. Lord, forgive us for being stiff necked and reacting
contrary to Your teachings. Forgive us Lord, for sometimes going
against Your will and Your word. Help us Father, to be still and
accept that there are things in our lives that shouldn't be there.
There are people in our lives that shouldn’t be there. There are
things that we do and say, that are not pleasing to You. Lord, help
us to accept Your truths and dwell in Your word. Help us Lord, to be
still and listen for Your still small voice and when we hear it,
accept those things You are revealing to us. Have mercy on us Lord.
Lord, we love You even in our chastisements. We magnify and uplift
Your name because You are Sovereign. We love You because You love us
more than words could ever express. We submit our prayers in the
name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Do Not be Afraid
Remember, Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. ~ Sir Winston Churchill
Scripture:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
So often when we are faced with life altering choices, we become paralyzed with fear. It is a part of human nature to fear the unknown. We sometimes fear not having a mate and being alone. We fear leaving a job we hate, believing that we may not find another. Sometimes we even fear the things that may ultimately be a blessing.
During my lifetime, I had to learn to overcome my fears. When my marriage fell apart, I didn’t think I would be able to take care of myself and my children, but I did. When I lost my job and looked for months before I found another, I stressed each and everyday that I was out of work.
One day I realized that no matter what I was going through, God was right there with me. During those nights when I cried myself to sleep after my marriage failed, God was there to wipe away my tears and He continued to provide for my children and me. Even when I was out of work, my children and I still had a roof over our heads and food on the table. I became aware of the fact that stress couldn’t to resolve my problems, only God could.
The one thing that each and every one of us has to remember is, fear can be paralyzing, but faith can set you free.
Be Blessed and be a blessing
Prayer:
Oh kind and gracious and merciful Father, we come before the throne of grace, as humbly as we know how. We lift up our eyes unto the heavens from which all of our blessings flow. Father, we know that we are not worthy of fresh grace, but You give it to us anyway. We know that somewhere along the way we have sinned, but You forgave us anyway. We know that sometimes we disappoint You, but You love us anyway. Thank You Father that You love and forgive me in spite of me. Father we come standing in the gap for our fellow saints, for our family members, and for our friends. So many need so much, but we know that there is nothing too hard for God. Continue to touch, bless, anoint and heal those saints among us who are afflicted. Keep us all just a little closer to You this day and give us the wisdom to choose the right seeds for our gardens. Now Lord we pause to praise You. We give thanks to You this day, we magnify and uplift Your most holy name. We ask and pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
